Bonnaroo

I'm psyched. Only two more days at work and then I'm off to camp at Bonnaroo, a huge outdoor three-day music festival, with my friends. I've never been and I hear to expect total craziness and fun, which I feel like I need. Not to mention the talent is insane. The Police, Tool, & The White Stripes are opening and artists like Ben Harper, Gov't Mule, Regina Spektor, Damion Rice, blah blah blah blah... you get the point. Let's pray that my late twenties' mind and spirit can hang on for four days of patchouli, and beer.

This weekend was nice and relaxing. Gretchen and I did a lot of work around the cute, old, little, hidden house that we rent. I did a lot of work on a little studio audio project that I've been working up with a friend of mine, Ash. We're in a band together and we record songs at our band room on our computer as if we are studio masters, haha. It's really fun and the songs are things I can hang on to, in case I want to listen back years from now. I've been editting audio clips for years and love it.

I'll be sure and share when they are finished.

This latest song (work in progress) is actually dedicated to a friend of ours that went through some rough times and gave us the idea to work with. She was dating this girl named Carin', who broke her heart. We dedicated that "I'm Carin' for Carin', but Carin's not Carin' no more" would make a GREAT cryin' country tune and we figured she would appreciate it! This all coming from rock musicians too, which makes it all super funny -- not to mention that over the Christmas holiday, we recorded Merry Christmas From The Family with a bunch of friends, changed some lyrics, and then had it sent out to everyone on cd. It was an enjoyment to say the least.

I'm still trying to figure out all of this blog, website, post audio, stuff so you'll have to work with me here.

Gretch and I took in For Your Consideration and Stranger Than Fiction this weekend. Oh and a small Indiana town's rendition of Little Shop Of Horrors, it was fantastically good and starred one of our gays as the doctor, which was also funny.
Besides packing, giving my little dog Oz a clip and dip, I didn't do much.

Oh my and I just remembered that I HAVE to post my story (I have PICTURES!) about seeing Dolly Parton, a huge part of my life, for the first time back a few months ago too! I'll try to post that story very soon!
