According to various news sources, Asia frontman John Wetton is recovering from open heart surgery. The band's website says the classic rocker underwent the operation last week and everything with the procedure went as expected. The singer/bassist announced last week that he might have to have the operation. He explained that he learned he had advanced heart disease following a recent comprehensive physical exam. At the time, he noted he was exploring his options and having tests done to determine if he could treat his condition with medicine or if he'd need the surgery.
