Hedwig

I've got an angry inch. Wow.

Background --

I've been drumming since I was three, live in bands since I was 13, and getting paid very little for many, many years it seems now. I love it though and I teach students on the side. All the while -- doing numerous fill in gigs for around 5 different groups around town, at the same time that I'm recording an album in a professional studio. I've often thought of giving it up from the moment I started (the odds have been against me -- girl, drummer, redhead, maybe a disorder here and there) but something always kept me coming back. Maybe because it's my happiness?

I've done about three years of theatre drumming and it's been a new interest. I just found out that they are looking for a drummer for the role in Hedwig And The Angry Inch here at our local Actor's Theatre. Gretch even told me they were interested in a girl. Wow. That's pressure. First, would I even have a chance to make the cut -- I know I can play the parts, but there are tons of phenominal drummers around here. Two, I would totally have to rework my money/work schedule around it. I'd probably miss two full weeks of my night job of teaching students and I would have to move up the hours of my day job/insurance. Wow. That's alot to think about. I love that soundtrack -- dun, dun, -- put on some make-up, turn on the eight-track, I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf!"

No Pressure -- Just dream.
