It's FRIDAY and not just any Friday, it's Friday the 13th. The last Friday the 13th, I was meeting Dolly Parton!
Just a little history for you....
The modern basis for the aura that surrounds Friday the 13th stems from Friday October the 13th, 1307, when the Pope of the church in Rome in conjunction with the King of France, carried out a secret death warrant against "the Knights Templar." Friday was the weekly "Execution day" in ancient Rome. In addition, the number 13 has been associated with other evil and unlucky events. Judas Iscariot was the "thirteenth" apostle. The ill-fated Apollo 13 space mission is a study in unlucky 13. It was launched at 13:13 hours, from pad 39, the third multiple of 13, and was aborted on April 13, 1970. And then of course, there's the kabillion Friday the 13th movie series.
This weekend is going to be great! My week has been superb and the outlook seems to be getting better. Tonight I plan to start off the fun by attending a Louisville Bats baseball game at Slugger Field with friends. The Bats are a tripe-A affiliate to the Cincinnati Reds, whom I've been watching since I was a young child. Tomorrow it's off to see The Police live in concert at the historic racetrack, Churchill Downs.
If you remember, I saw The Police in concert last month at Bonnaroo in Tennessee. I actually bought the ticket to see Stewert Copeland in concert because he has been one of my favorite drummers since I was young. I'm hoping they are better this go round, and lets hope they don't leave 50 minutes early and make everyone mad like they did in TN.
Sunday, I plan to take in the new Harry Potter flick at the IMAX, I hear the last fight scene is in 3D!
Next week, it's back to studio session work for the new album. I can NOT wait to share it with all of you, and we are incredibly close to being able to mix the project!
Stay tuned....
