When The Levee Breaks

It's 2 a.m. and I just got home from a dual gig with Teneia Sanders and Leigh Ann Yost. It was a great gig and I'm honored to be playing with such great musicians, how did I get so lucky? I love it when I do things right, and the stars align to fit my being.

I just hopped online to read some news and I saw that Lady Bird Johnson has died at the age of 94. I'm fairly young and don't really remember anything about her or her husband, except what history has taught, but I do remember when I was younger we took a trip to San Antonio, Texas to visit the Lyndon B. Johnson ranch. I remember that on the bus ride around the ranch, they played Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head. I also remember that my grandmother, Dimple, who has since passed, had a T Bird, as she called it and for some reason it always reminds me of Lady Bird. May she forever rest in peace.

I thank my lucky stars for this night, it will forever be cherished.
